TeraBridges Robotics Workshop: Color Code Robot Challenge (1st-2nd Graders)

TeraBridges Robotics Workshop: Color Code Robot Challenge (1st-2nd Graders) In-Person

This program is for students from 1st to 2nd grade who show an interest in robotics or are passionate about learning. Students will work in groups of two to code a Sphero Indi robot. They will use colored tiles to "program" the robot and instruct it to solve a maze. Members from competitive robotics teams will help groups complete the challenges and introduce them to FIRST, an organization that empowers STEM education and holds robotics competitions nationwide.

Details:

  • Car shaped robots with color sensors will be used, and the participants will be guided on how these robots work and introduced to the concept of programming and technology
  • The event will have 10+ maze challenges for kids to learn from.
  • The robots will be programmed using colored tile mats
  • Students from FIRST Tech Challenge team 18603, TeraBridges, will assist the groups in designing, building, and coding the robot
